LEBANON - Public Health Minister Dr. Rakan Nassereddine on Thursday inaugurated the “Empowering Hospital Pharmacists” program.
The program is a joint initiative launched by the Syndicate of Private Hospitals and the Order of Pharmacists, in partnership with the École Supérieure des Affaires (ESA), following an initiative by MedisPharm.
Opening the event, MedisPharm representative Rebecca Zoghbi said the program aims to strengthen hospital pharmacists’ skills in leadership, team management, problem-solving, and the integration of artificial intelligence into pharmaceutical business practices.
Representing ESA’s Director General, Randa Jreissati highlighted the importance of the program as a reflection of shared responsibility and commitment to advancing healthcare in Lebanon, stressing the central role hospital pharmacists play in developing the national health system.
In his remarks, Minister Nassereddine said the healthcare sector has made significant sacrifices in Lebanon, noting the longstanding legacy of medicine, hospitalization, and pharmacy.
He announced that serious joint discussions are underway with the Order of Pharmacists and private hospitals to improve drug-related fees in the near term, stressing that such measures will not affect drug prices but aim to improve working conditions in the sector.
He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare system and supporting hospital pharmacists as a core component of that effort.
