LEBANON – The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) announced that, as part of its ongoing efforts to maintain financial stability with the healthcare sector and ensure continuity of services for beneficiaries, it continues to implement its plan for regular funding to contracted hospitals and doctors.

The measure aims to balance support for the healthcare sector with safeguarding the rights of insured patients.

In this context, NSSF Director-General Dr. Mohammad Karki issued Decision No. 63 on 30 January 2026, authorizing a new round of advance payments to hospitals and doctors, totaling 173 billion Lebanese pounds.

The fund said this second payment for 2026 is part of a system of regular transfers to support hospitals and doctors and ease the financial strain on the healthcare sector, especially during Lebanon’s ongoing economic difficulties.

With this latest transfer, the NSSF has paid approximately 383 billion Lebanese pounds to hospitals and doctors over the past two weeks.

The NSSF emphasized that all hospitals and doctors contracting with the fund are required to adhere to the approved tariffs and must not charge beneficiaries any unjustified additional fees.

Such practices would constitute a clear violation of contractual agreements and infringe on the rights of insured patients.

Dr. Karki also reiterated the administration’s commitment to resolving outstanding files and strengthening responsible cooperation between the NSSF, hospitals, and doctors.

He stressed that this partnership is essential for safeguarding public health in Lebanon and ensuring the continuity of hospital services on a fair and balanced basis, protecting both patient dignity and the role of medical professionals.
