LEBANON - The Ministry of Public Works and Transport, on Thursday announced the start of on-site works at the Arida Bridge crossing through its contractor, as part of a project to construct a temporary bridge and reactivate this vital border passage to enhance traffic flow and commercial activity.

In a statement, the Ministry said the first phase focuses on removing existing earth barriers, clearing and preparing the site, ahead of building new reinforced concrete foundations on the structure of the old bridge, in line with approved engineering standards.

These works precede the installation of a specially designed steel bridge aimed at restoring the crossing’s strategic role and boosting economic movement in the area.

Moreover, the ministry confirmed that all works are carried out under the engineering supervision of Khatib & Alami, ensuring compliance with the highest technical, safety, and quality standards, and stressed its close follow-up to ensure adherence to the set timelines.
