BEIRUT — The Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) hosted an honorary dinner for Minister of Industry Joe Issa El Khoury, attended by visiting German parliamentarians and Lebanese political and economic figures.
Minister El Khoury said Lebanese-German ties should be primarily economic, with a particular focus on industry.
He highlighted Germany’s global leadership in industrial technology, from advanced manufacturing and precision engineering to automation, robotics, sustainable production, and Industry 4.0.
He said Lebanon offers a strategic advantage through its highly educated, multilingual youth and skilled engineers, programmers, designers, and technicians capable of competing globally.
Minister El Khoury outlined a vision for Lebanon to serve as a regional platform for German technology industries, enabling companies to establish engineering and technology offices, develop software, conduct research and development, and serve regional markets at competitive costs and European-quality standards.
