LEBANON – Four graduate students from the American University of Beirut (AUB) took part in the International Youth Program at the Emirates Airline Literature Festival 2026 in Dubai, accompanied by Dr. Ramzi Al-Baalbaki from the Sheikh Zayed Chair for Arab Studies program.

The program focused on enhancing the role of the Arabic language as a vital medium for cross-cultural communication and empowering students to take on leadership roles, in addition to providing direct academic engagement with prominent authors and researchers.

The students described the experience as both academically and personally enriching, participating in sessions on storytelling, Arabic calligraphy, precise translation, and the role of youth in media, alongside practical cultural activities such as visits to the Global Village and the Sikka Arts and Design Festival.

Informal program spaces also contributed to strengthening communication and collaboration among students from diverse backgrounds and nationalities.

At the conclusion of the program, participants received certificates of appreciation, reflecting AUB’s commitment to promoting global academic exchange and supporting graduate students in gaining multidisciplinary and cross-cultural experiences.
