LEBANON – The Ministry of Agriculture announced the continued implementation of the national vaccination campaign against foot-and-mouth disease, which began on December 20, 2025, as part of its ongoing efforts to safeguard livestock and strengthen the country’s veterinary health system.

As of the 55th day of the campaign, February 12, 2026, the first dose of cattle vaccination has been fully completed, with 43,526 cattle vaccinated across 5,405 farms.

The second dose is also underway according to the approved plan, with 30,366 cattle vaccinated in 2,811 farms so far.

Regarding sheep and goat vaccination, the campaign is progressing steadily, with 84,575 sheep and 33,519 goats vaccinated across 1,112 farms.

 The Ministry of Agriculture emphasized that the campaign is proceeding according to the scheduled timeline, thanks to the intensive efforts of veterinary teams and the positive cooperation of farmers and breeders.

The Ministry renewed its call for all livestock owners to adhere to vaccination programs, highlighting their direct impact in reducing the spread of epidemic diseases, protecting livestock production, ensuring agricultural sustainability, and strengthening national food security.
