BEIRUT — Lebanon has set a Guinness World Record for the longest Iftar table in the world, stretching 3,255.8 meters along Beirut’s Seaside Arena.

The record-breaking table, measuring more than three kilometers, brought together over 5,700 orphans and underprivileged children for a communal Ramadan meal. Guinness World Records officials confirmed the measurements and granted the title during the event.

The initiative was organized by the Lebanese non-profit group Ajialouna. The organization said the event aims to promote unity, generosity and social solidarity during the holy month of Ramadan.

This is the second time Ajialouna has entered the record books. In 2017, the group set a previous Guinness record with a 2,184-meter Iftar table that hosted around 5,400 people. The 2026 edition extended that record by more than one kilometer.

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam attended the event, which turned the Seaside Arena waterfront into a continuous line of tables and chairs. Thousands of children sat side by side to break their fast together.

Ajialouna described the record as more than a numerical achievement, saying the goal was to bring children together in a shared moment during Ramadan.

The new record officially makes Lebanon home to the longest Iftar table ever recorded worldwide.
