LEBANON – The head of the Bakers’ Union in Lebanon, Tony Seif, reassured the Lebanese today that “bakeries are operating efficiently and have a large production capacity, enabling them to respond to any emergency or sudden demand.”

Seif noted that “there is pressure on bakeries due to fear and anxiety among citizens,” while emphasizing that “bakeries are keeping up with this increase in demand and have the production capacity to supply more if needed.”

He stressed that “there is no need to fear any shortage in bread production, especially as wheat stocks are sufficient for two months.”

Seif also revealed that a new ship is currently unloading its cargo at the Port of Tripoli, in addition to other shipments expected to arrive in Lebanon in the coming period, which will help stabilize the market and ensure continuous production.
