LEBANON – The Disaster Risk Management Unit (DRM) and the organization OCHA, in cooperation with UNICEF, have released new field reports documenting the sharp deterioration in humanitarian conditions as hostilities expand.

The latest data shows a significant surge in displacement figures and human losses.

Displacement Situation and Shelter Centers

According to the latest official statistics (dated 11 March 2026), displacement numbers have significantly exceeded previous estimates:

• Total displaced: The Minister of Social Affairs, Hanine El-Sayed, stated that the number of displaced people registered since the beginning of the escalation has reached approximately 780,000 displaced persons.

• Self-registered displaced: The documented number in the Disaster Risk Management report reached 759,300 people.

• Collective shelters: Currently, 122,600 displaced individuals (representing 31,500 families) are residing in collective shelter centers.

• Number of centers: The number of open shelter centers has increased to 580 centers distributed across different governorates.

Human Casualties

Reports recorded a sharp escalation in military operations, with 1,295 hostile incidents, resulting in the following toll:

• Casualties (within 24 hours): 84 people killed and 131 injured.

• Cumulative toll: The total number of deaths has risen to 570, while the number of injured has reached 1,444.

Situation of Children (UNICEF Report)

UNICEF warned about the heavy toll being paid by children in this conflict:

• Approximately 200,000 children are among the displaced who have been forced to leave their homes.

• During the past week, more than 10 children were killed on average each day across Lebanon.

• Around 36 children are injured daily due to ongoing military operations.

Targeted Areas and Guidance

Military operations and evacuation orders are heavily concentrated in South Lebanon (Tyre, Nabatieh, Bint Jbeil), Bekaa (Baalbek–Hermel), and the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Authorities are urging displaced individuals who wish to go to available shelters to use the online platform (find.shelterslebanon.info) to check shelter capacity before heading there.
