LEBANON – Middle East Airlines – the Lebanese national carrier – announced in statement No. 12 major changes to its flight schedule for Wednesday, 11 March 2026.
These measures come due to the continued closure of airspace in most countries in the region, the prevailing conditions, and operational reasons.
Cancellation and Changes to Gulf and Regional Flights
The changes include the cancellation of many regular flights, turning some into charter flights, or merging flights as follows:
• Dubai and Abu Dhabi: Both regular Dubai flights (ME428/429 & ME426/427) have been canceled and replaced by a charter flight (ME1428/1429). Passengers of canceled Abu Dhabi flights (ME418/419) can rebook on the Dubai charter flight at no extra cost.
• Jeddah: The evening flight (ME368/369) is canceled; passengers are moved to the morning flight (ME364/365), departing Beirut at 12:00 and Jeddah at 16:30.
• Cairo and Larnaca: The return flight Cairo–Beirut (ME307) is canceled; passengers can book the afternoon flight (ME305). The Larnaca return flight (ME262) is postponed to Thursday, 12 March at 08:00.
• Full cancellations: Regular flights to Kuwait, Baghdad, Doha, and the evening flights to Amman and Jeddah are fully canceled.
Revised Departure Times (Wednesday, 11 March)
Some morning and evening flights have updated departure times:
• Amman (ME310/311): Beirut 07:30, Amman 11:15
• Frankfurt (ME217/218): Beirut 10:00, Frankfurt 14:40
• Riyadh (ME424/422): Morning flight from Beirut 07:25, evening 16:55
• Istanbul: Additional flight (ME1265) departs Beirut at 18:30
Note: Flights to Accra, Abidjan, London, Geneva, Milan, Madrid, Athens, Brussels, and Paris remain on their scheduled times.
New “No-Show” Fee Policy
Due to repeated bookings without showing up, which prevents other passengers from traveling, the airline will enforce strict measures:
• No-show fee: $300 for economy class, $500 for business class
• The airline reserves the right to cancel the entire ticket if passengers do not show up without canceling in advance.
Ticket Flexibility and Contact
The airline confirmed ticket flexibility: passengers can rebook once for free within a week, or refund unused tickets without fees.
