LEBANON – Minister of Education Rima Karamy met with a delegation from an educational institution to discuss the occupation of some school buildings by displaced families, where decisions regarding the entry of families and the management of the buildings are still being made independently.
The delegation explained the severe damages and losses to the buildings and equipment, following repeated occupations in previous periods, which significantly affected the facilities and resources.
It was noted that attempts to protect laboratories and several classrooms were unsuccessful.
Minister Karamy confirmed that she is closely monitoring the situation and working continuously with the Disaster Management Authority at the Council of Ministers to relocate the displaced families to other safe areas, particularly in regions that are no longer safe after being targeted multiple times.
She also stated that efforts will be intensified to ensure the safe relocation of displaced families.
