BEIRUT - The American University of Beirut has launched a humanitarian initiative offering free healthcare services to displaced women affected by the ongoing war, its hospital’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology announced.
Starting March 28, the program allocates every Saturday as a dedicated health day, providing free medical consultations and care from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The services are delivered at the Specialized Clinics Building, sixth floor, at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) in Beirut.
The initiative aims to address the growing barriers displaced women face in accessing essential healthcare, particularly amid worsening economic and security conditions.
Many women struggle with limited financial resources, psychological stress, and restricted access to medical facilities, increasing their vulnerability and unmet health needs.
The program reflects a wider effort by local institutions to respond to the humanitarian impact of the conflict and support some of the most at-risk communities in Lebanon.
