LEBANON — Lebanon’s Consumer Price Index increased by 4.91% in March 2026 compared to February 2026, according to the Central Administration of Statistics.

On a yearly basis, inflation reached 17.26% compared to March 2025, showing continued increases in the overall cost of living.

This rise comes as Lebanon continues to face security tensions and ongoing Israeli military actions, which have affected daily life in several regions and created additional pressure on markets and supply chains.

Price increases varied across the country. Beirut recorded a monthly rise of 2.88%, while Mount Lebanon saw a 4.30% increase. The North and the Beqaa both registered a 6.04% rise. In the South, prices increased by 5.33%, while Nabatieh recorded the highest increase at 7.78%.

The Central Administration of Statistics said that collecting data this month was more difficult than usual due to the security situation linked to ongoing Israeli military actions. In some areas, field teams were unable to access markets, which limited direct price collection safely.

To address these gaps, the administration used alternative methods, including estimating missing prices (imputation), relying on online data, and using prices from stores in less affected areas. These measures allowed the CPI to be published on schedule, despite the challenges.

The data reflects uneven price changes across Lebanon, with some regions experiencing higher increases than others. The differences may be linked to disruptions in transport, supply chains, and access to goods in certain areas.
