LEBANON – UNICEF reported that children in Lebanon face heightened risks during situations of displacement, particularly those with disabilities, as essential services decline and access to specialized support becomes more limited.

The organization noted that children, particularly those with disabilities, face heightened risks during times of conflict, as essential services decline and access to specialized support becomes more limited.

In this context, the National Disability Allowance provides critical support, with the Ministry of Social Affairs, in partnership with the European Union, UNICEF, and the International Labour Organization, delivering monthly cash transfers to more than 38,000 persons with disabilities.

It also pointed out that around 12,000 families, including approximately 17,500 children, received emergency cash assistance at critical moments, helping to ease living burdens and ensure minimum basic needs.

UNICEF concluded by stressing that children in Lebanon need more than just a pause in hostilities—they need sustainable stability, real protection, and opportunities to continue learning, growing, and preserving their dreams despite the challenges.
