LEBANON – Jad Abou Najem, a third-year Computer Science student at the Faculty of Science at Beirut Arab University, achieved a notable accomplishment after discovering a security vulnerability in the messaging feature of platform “X”.

According to a statement released by the university, Abou Najem responsibly reported the vulnerability through HackerOne, a platform specialized in identifying and managing cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

Following a detailed review by security analysts, the vulnerability was successfully verified and reproduced before being escalated to the internal security team at “X”, which confirmed the issue and worked on resolving it. Abou Najem was later recognized and rewarded for his efforts.

The achievement was also highlighted by Semicolon, which praised the student’s contribution to strengthening digital security.

The university stated that this success reflects the advanced level of Computer Science students at Beirut Arab University and highlights the Faculty of Science’s commitment to promoting innovation and excellence in technology and cybersecurity fields, helping prepare skilled graduates capable of making a real impact in the digital world.
