1.24 Million People in Lebanon Facing Food Insecurity, WFP Says
Rising costs and ongoing crises are pushing more families in Lebanon into acute food insecurity, the WFP says.
LEBANON - The World Food Programme in Lebanon has warned of deepening food insecurity as families across the country continue to face conflict, economic pressure, and multiple overlapping shocks.
In a recent statement, the World Food Programme Lebanon shared testimonies reflecting the daily reality of affected families, noting that rising prices and the loss of livelihoods are pushing more people into severe vulnerability.
According to the programme, around 1.24 million people across Lebanon are currently facing acute food insecurity, highlighting the scale of the humanitarian challenge.
Despite these conditions, the WFP said it remains present on the ground, providing emergency assistance to vulnerable families to meet growing needs, while also continuing its regular support programmes nationwide.
