Technology Ministry Signs MoU with Berytech to Boost Digital Transformation
The MoU outlines a framework for collaboration on initiatives related to digital development, artificial intelligence applications, and innovation-driven projects in the public sector.

LEBANON - Lebanon’s Ministry of State for Technology and Artificial Intelligence signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the innovation and entrepreneurship support organization Berytech, in a move aimed at accelerating digital transformation and strengthening public-private cooperation in the country’s technology sector.
The agreement was signed by Minister Dr. Kamal Shehadeh on behalf of the ministry and Maroun Chammas, CEO of Berytech, in the presence of ministry officials and senior representatives from the organization.
The MoU outlines a framework for collaboration on initiatives related to digital development, artificial intelligence applications, and innovation-driven projects in the public sector.
During the meeting, Shehadeh emphasized the importance of engaging the private sector in Lebanon’s broader digital transformation strategy. He highlighted ongoing ministry projects focused on modernizing public services, expanding digital infrastructure, and integrating artificial intelligence tools into government operations.
He also stressed that work within the ministry has continued despite national challenges and operational constraints affecting the country.
Minister Shehadeh further underscored Lebanon’s human capital, particularly its young talent pool, describing it as a key driver for future recovery and technological advancement. He stated that empowering youth and fostering innovation remain central to the ministry’s long-term vision.
For his part, Chammas reaffirmed Berytech’s readiness to collaborate with the government across multiple technology and innovation domains. He acknowledged the structural and economic challenges facing Lebanon but stressed the importance of sustaining momentum in entrepreneurship, startup development, and digital transformation efforts.
Chammas also noted that several upcoming initiatives and joint activities are being prepared under the new partnership framework. These initiatives are expected to focus on supporting innovation ecosystems, strengthening capacity-building programs, and encouraging technology-driven economic growth.
Both parties expressed optimism that the partnership will contribute to reinforcing Lebanon’s innovation landscape and improving coordination between public institutions and the private sector, particularly in areas linked to artificial intelligence and digital governance.
