770,000 children in Lebanon are now at risk of developing long-term mental health conditions
LEBANON – UNICEF warned that children across Lebanon are facing severe psychological exhaustion as a result of ongoing violence, displacement, and repeated exposure to insecurity.
According to UNICEF, more than 770,000 children in Lebanon are now at risk of developing long-term mental health conditions due to the continuing escalation and the cumulative impact of fear, instability, and conflict.
The organization stressed that the psychological toll on children could leave lasting scars long after the violence ends, warning of long-term consequences for an entire generation.
UNICEF called for the protection of children and urged all parties to ensure that the ceasefire holds, emphasizing the need to prevent further harm to civilians, particularly minors.
