LEBANON —Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 3.04 percent in April 2026 compared with March 2026, while annual inflation reached 20.02 percent compared with April 2025, according to figures released by the Central Administration of Statistics.

The data showed price increases across all Lebanese governorates during the month of April, reflecting continued inflationary pressures amid the country’s prolonged economic crisis.

The highest monthly increase was recorded in the Bekaa governorate, where prices rose by 5.74 percent. Nabatieh followed with a 3.97 percent increase, while South Lebanon recorded a 3.72 percent rise.

In Beirut, prices increased by 2.02 percent, while Mount Lebanon saw a 2.71 percent increase and North Lebanon recorded a 2.54 percent rise.

The statistics administration said the inflation figures were compiled despite ongoing operational challenges linked to the current situation in Lebanon, which continued to affect field data collection during April.

According to the administration, it was unable to collect prices for most goods and services in the Nabatieh governorate due to security-related conditions, in addition to difficulties gathering some prices in areas considered unsafe.

To address the gaps, the administration said it relied on approved statistical methods to complete missing data and ensure the index was issued within its regular schedule.

The detailed CPI breakdown for all governorates is available through the Central Administration of Statistics’ official website.
