LEBANON - The Ministry of Public Health has reaffirmed that it continues to provide full emergency and hospitalization coverage for all uninsured Lebanese citizens, rejecting reports suggesting that the policy applies only to displaced individuals.
In a statement issued by the ministry's media office, the ministry said that, under a decision by Health Minister Rakan Nassereddine, uninsured Lebanese are entitled to 100% coverage for emergency and eligible hospitalization services at all public hospitals, as well as some private hospitals that have agreed to the treatment ceiling set by the ministry.
The ministry stressed that the coverage applies equally to uninsured Lebanese regardless of whether they are displaced from their towns and villages or not. It said there are "no exceptions or discrimination whatsoever" in implementing the policy.
The ministry clarified that the decision does not extend to all hospitalization cases. Instead, it covers all emergency cases, along with a specified list of hospitalization services, while other medical conditions remain outside the scope of the program.
The statement came in response to reports and claims circulating in recent days regarding eligibility criteria for uninsured patients, prompting the ministry to reiterate the details of the coverage mechanism.
To assist the public, the ministry reminded citizens that its hotline, 1787, is available during official working hours to answer questions related to eligibility, participating hospitals, and procedures for accessing the coverage.
The ministry also provided a list of public and private hospitals participating in the coverage program:

The ministry urged citizens to rely on official information and contact the hotline for clarification rather than depending on unverified reports regarding the emergency and hospitalization coverage program
