LEBANON – The results of the UNIRANKS Global University Ranking 2027 highlighted the strong performance of Lebanese universities, with four institutions ranking among the top 30 universities in the Arab world, achieving advanced positions both locally and internationally.
The American University of Beirut (AUB) topped the ranking of Lebanese universities, placing fourth in the Arab world and 336th globally.
The Lebanese American University (LAU) ranked second nationally and 22nd in the Arab world, followed by Saint Joseph University of Beirut in third place in Lebanon and 25th regionally. Venice University ranked fourth locally and 26th among Arab universities, while the University of Balamand secured the fifth position among Lebanese universities.
The UNIRANKS ranking evaluates university performance based on 11 key dimensions, including education quality, academic and research performance, graduate employability and professional success, internationalisation and diversity, student experience and satisfaction, digital presence and transformation, institutional infrastructure, university facilities, as well as academic and professional recognitions.
The 2027 UNIRANKS ranking covers more than 37,000 universities and higher education institutions across 228 countries and regions worldwide, using a multidimensional framework to compare university performance at local, regional, and international levels.
