On December 16, Lebanon launched the National Adolescents Health Campaign: “Health Trend” at the Government Palace in Beirut, bringing together government officials, youth groups, and the World Health Organization. Led by Ambassador Sahar Baassiri and developed by the Ministries of Public Health, Education, and Youth and Sports with WHO support, the campaign targets adolescents aged 10–19.
The launch highlighted alarming findings from the 2024 Global School Health Survey, including rising mental health challenges, excessive screen time, poor nutrition, physical inactivity, and early exposure to tobacco, alcohol, and drugs. Officials stressed a prevention-first, school-based approach and framed the campaign as the starting point of a national, evidence-based strategy to promote healthier, safer, and more resilient Lebanese youth.
