The Ministry of Culture and the Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation in culture, education and community development, with a particular focus on supporting Sidon as a Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue for 2027.
The MoU was signed in Beirut by Minister of Culture Ghassan Salameh and Mrs. Bahia Hariri, President of the Hariri Foundation. The partnership comes as preparations begin for a year of cultural initiatives in Sidon, including music and literary events, alongside efforts to strengthen cultural infrastructure and institutions.
In exclusive remarks to Enmaeya, Minister Salameh discussed the process behind Sidon’s selection and the role of the municipality, local associations and the Hariri Foundation in supporting the nomination. He also highlighted the importance of using 2027 as an opportunity to establish sustainable cultural projects and institutions whose impact can continue beyond the designated cultural year.
