In recognition of Pink October, the Hariri Social & Medical Center (HFSMC) launches a breast cancer awareness initiative highlighting the importance of early detection, regular screening, and greater awareness of breast health.
Through a series of educational videos featuring medical guidance, the campaign addresses key aspects of breast cancer prevention and early detection, including breast self-examination, recognizing changes in the size or appearance of the breast, identifying unusual lumps, and understanding when to seek medical advice. It also sheds light on the role of mammograms and ultrasound in evaluating breast changes and helping healthcare professionals determine the appropriate next steps.
The videos emphasize that not every lump or change in the breast necessarily indicates cancer, while underscoring the importance of consulting a healthcare professional whenever unusual changes are noticed. They also highlight the importance of following appropriate screening recommendations, particularly for women over the age of 40 and those with a family history of breast cancer, who may need to begin screening earlier based on medical advice.
As part of this initiative, HFSMC encourages women to make their health a priority, become familiar with their bodies, and take proactive steps toward early detection. Through awareness, education, and access to appropriate medical guidance, the campaign aims to empower women to make informed decisions about their health.
This Pink October, take a moment for yourself. Because early detection matters, and taking care of your health should never be postponed.
