Climate Weeks 2025: Dialogues for Ambition and Implementation is a new, biannual platform launched by the UNFCCC Secretariat to replace the previous Regional Climate Weeks. The initiative aims to strengthen global climate action by bridging international negotiations with practical, on-the-ground implementation, in alignment with the goals of the Paris Agreement.
Key Features of Climate Weeks 2025:
Structure: Each Climate Week will combine official UNFCCC meetings, policy discussions, and high-impact dialogues to promote efficient, inclusive, and action-oriented engagement among governments and non-state actors.
Frequency: Held twice a year, the Climate Weeks will provide a consistent, global platform to maintain momentum on climate action and negotiations.
The first Climate Week of 2025 will take place in Panama City from 19 to 23 May. The event will focus on:
Capacity-building to enhance national and regional climate action.
Showcasing solutions for addressing climate change.
Feeding into upcoming climate negotiations to influence future international discussions.
A second Climate Week is planned just before COP30, offering another opportunity to continue the momentum and contribute to shaping the global climate agenda.
This new format is designed to ensure action-driven engagement and to support the practical implementation of climate strategies, driving meaningful change in line with the Paris Agreement goals.
