From 9–11 July in Cologne, Germany, the 2025 Climate Alliance International Conference (CAIC25) brings together over 200 city and municipal representatives from across Europe to advance bold, local climate solutions. Under the theme “Taking Local Action on the Global Climate Crisis,” the conference spotlights the power of municipalities in tackling urgent issues like energy poverty, resilient infrastructure, citizen participation, and global climate partnerships.
A key highlight is the Climate Alliance General Assembly (9 July), where members will vote on board elections, statutory reforms, and adopt the “Cologne Declaration” — a renewed commitment to long-term local climate action.
By combining political dialogue with practical exchange, CAIC25 positions local governments at the heart of climate transitions, affirming that real climate solutions start from the ground up.
