Applications are now open for the 2026 UN SDG Action Awards, which recognize individuals and initiatives creating measurable change in their communities and beyond. The deadline to apply is 17 May 2026.
The awards include three categories:
Changemaker for individuals leading collective action toward justice, equality, and peace;
Creativity for initiatives using art, innovation, and visual expression to inspire action and drive impact;
Resilience for initiatives building stronger communities in the face of conflict, inequality, or climate change.
To be eligible, applicants must show proven, measurable results achieved within the past three years. Initiatives that are still in the planning or concept stage are not eligible, and previous finalists or winners cannot apply again.
Applications are assessed based on impact, scalability and replicability, and novelty and innovation. The organizers also encourage applicants to review the application fields early and complete all sections before submission.
This is a strong opportunity for social innovators, grassroots leaders, civil society actors, and purpose-driven initiatives working to advance sustainable development.
