Climate Week NYC 2026 is taking place alongside UNGA 81, bringing together governments, businesses, investors, civil society and climate experts. Organized by Climate Group, the week includes 1,000+ events and is expected to attract more than 100,000 participants.
This year, the emphasis is strongly on implementation: moving from climate commitments toward practical action, investment and solutions at scale. Key discussions cover energy and electrification, climate finance, cities and infrastructure, technology and AI, food and agriculture, transport, nature, health and the just transition.
Key Schedule
20 September – Climate Week begins
Events and activities start across New York City.
21 September – Official Opening Ceremony
Senior government, business and civil-society leaders open the official programme. The Hub Live also begins.
22 September – The Hub Live continues
Flagship discussions focus on climate policy, business, investment, energy and implementation.
23–25 September – Major thematic events across NYC
Discussions range from food and technology to climate data, AI, finance and clean growth.

23 September: UN High-Level Event on Climate Action and the Just Transition
24 September: UN High-Level Meeting on Sea-Level Rise
26–27 September – Community and closing events
Activities include climate, culture and community events, followed by discussions including environment and green finance as the week concludes.
Why it matters
Climate Week NYC provides the business, investment and implementation side of the climate conversation, while UNGA provides the intergovernmental and political platform. Together, they make New York one of the main global spaces this week for discussions on how climate commitments can translate into finance, technology, energy transition and concrete action.
