LEBANON – Minister of Information Paul Morcos announced on Thursday, April 9, the updated official figures for the victims of the attack that struck the country on Wednesday, based on data issued by the National Disaster Risk Management Unit.

According to the statement, the following toll was recorded:

• Deaths: 203

• Injured: 1,072

• Missing: 33

Updated Cumulative Figures

By adding these numbers to the report issued by the Disaster Risk Management Unit on April 8, the updated estimated totals are as follows:

• Total deaths: 1,942

• Total injured: 6,945

These figures represent a noticeable increase compared to previous statistics, which had reported 1,739 deaths and 5,873 injuries as of April 8, while no missing persons had been recorded in that report.

Authorities continue to monitor and update the figures as rescue operations proceed and damage assessments are carried out.
