LEBANON – The Save the Children in Lebanon issued a statistical report it described as alarming, highlighting the rising humanitarian impact of the war in Lebanon prior to the ceasefire, warning of the direct and severe impact on children.
According to the data published by the organization, military operations have led to around 800 children being killed or injured since the beginning of March, at a rate of nearly 20 children per day, reflecting the scale of the escalation and its humanitarian consequences.
It also noted that more than 350,000 children, equivalent to one in every five children in the country, have been forcibly displaced from their homes under difficult conditions, including fleeing at night and under the fear of shelling.
The organization stressed that the conflict does not only result in human losses, but also leads to the “loss of a sense of normal life and childhood”.
