LEBANON- Since early hours, Beirut’s southern suburb has been witnessing significant population movement, with residents and families leaving their homes toward areas considered safer, amid escalating security tensions in the region.
Roads leading out of the suburb have experienced heavy congestion, while a state of concern and anticipation has spread among residents.
Reports also indicated severe traffic congestion in the Tayouneh area due to the ongoing displacement movement from Beirut’s southern suburb, following reported Israeli threats to strike the area, causing major slowdowns on main roads.
These developments come within a context of continued security tensions affecting several areas in Lebanon in recent period, alongside calls for restraint and avoidance of escalation due to its serious humanitarian and security implications.
