BEIRUT - Lebanon’s Minister of Displaced Affairs and Minister of State for Technology and Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Kamal Shehadeh, inaugurated Experia Expo at the Forum de Beyrouth on Thursday, October 8, representing President Joseph Aoun.
In his opening remarks, Shehadeh highlighted the exhibition’s role in strengthening Lebanon’s position in the regional and global technology and innovation sectors.
Push for a Digital Republic
Minister Shehadeh said the exhibition could become an annual fixture on the technology and innovation calendar, adding that its organization, despite difficult circumstances and a postponement caused by the war, reflected the organizers’ confidence in Lebanon’s ability to restore its role in the sector.
He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building a “digital republic” that places citizens at the center of public institutions and enables them to access government services electronically from anywhere, directly and without intermediaries.
Minister Shehadeh stressed that achieving this goal requires cooperation between the public sector, private companies, universities and startups.
He expressed confidence in the capabilities of Lebanese innovators, entrepreneurs and companies to help lead the country into a new phase of prosperity, particularly in the age of artificial intelligence.
Experia Expo runs from October 8 to 10, bringing together companies and institutions to showcase their latest technological innovations and solutions.
The exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to explore developments in technology and innovation while providing a platform for participating organizations to present their work.
