LEBANON – Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport recorded approximately 4.24 million passengers during the first nine months of 2026, marking a 21.65% decline compared with the same period in 2025, when passenger traffic reached around 5.4 million, according to a BLOMINVEST report published on October 21, 2026.

According to the report, the number of arriving passengers reached 2.11 million, down 23.81% year-on-year, while departing passengers totalled approximately 2.13 million, a decrease of 19.38%. Meanwhile, transit passenger numbers increased by 46.77% to 2,865, although the overall number remained low.

On a monthly basis, August recorded the highest passenger traffic since the beginning of the year, with 835,576 passengers, according to figures reported by local media in September. Nevertheless, the total remained around 10% lower than in August 2025.

These figures reflect a decline in air traffic through Beirut Airport in 2026, amid regional security conditions and their impact on travel demand and airline operations, alongside the seasonal slowdown following the summer travel period.
