World Creativity and Innovation Day is observed annually on April 21. It promotes the role of creativity and innovation in addressing global challenges and advancing human development.

The United Nations General Assembly designated the day through Resolution 71/284 in 2017, with the first observance on April 21, 2018. Supported by over 80 countries, it aligns with efforts to foster multidisciplinary thinking for sustainable progress.

The day raises awareness about creativity's impact on problem-solving, economic growth, job creation, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. It encourages innovation in culture, science, technology, and entrepreneurship, especially for youth and women.
