To provide students and recent graduates with practical experience in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, data, innovation, and international development, the United Nations Development Programme is accepting applications for the “Digital, AI and Innovation Internship: Global Call for 2026.”
Hosted by UNDP’s Digital, AI and Innovation Hub, the home-based internship allows selected candidates to contribute to areas such as systems transformation, programme delivery, data governance, data analytics, strategic communications, digital-product development, partnerships, and knowledge management.
What You Will Gain:
Gain practical experience in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, data, and innovation for sustainable development
Support research, policy development, capacity-building, programme delivery, and knowledge-management activities
Contribute to data analysis, dashboards, digital tools, policy briefs, communication materials, or digital products
Work with UNDP teams, international experts, governments, development partners, and technology stakeholders
Strengthen your research, analytical, communication, project-management, and digital skills
Receive a monthly internship stipend in accordance with UNDP’s internship policy
Who Can Join:
Students enrolled in a graduate programme
Students in the final academic year of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Recent graduates who can begin the internship within one year of completing their degree
Applicants with an interest or relevant experience in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, data governance, innovation, communications, research, or international development
Individuals able to work independently and collaboratively in a remote and international environment
Applicants must submit a brief cover letter and an updated CV in English. They must complete both the official UNDP vacancy application and the additional Airtable form.
