LEBANON – Lebanon is exploring lessons from South Korea’s experience in building a stronger digital economy, with a focus on reliable data, secure systems, and institutions that help people and businesses make effective use of information.
Minister of State for Technology and Artificial Intelligence Kamal Shehadi and Lebanese Ambassador to South Korea Wael Hachem visited Korea’s K-DATA, opening discussions on how South Korea’s experience could inform Lebanon’s digital transformation.
The opportunity lies in translating these lessons into practical improvements, including better digital public services, stronger businesses, and more opportunities for Lebanese talent to develop and grow.
South Korea’s K-DATA has been developing programmes since 1993 to help businesses access and use data, analyse it securely, and improve data quality and certification.
These practices could offer useful insights for Lebanon as it works to strengthen digital governance, improve the use of data, and support businesses in an increasingly digital economy.
Building a stronger digital economy requires more than technology alone. Reliable data, secure systems, and institutions that enable people and businesses to use information effectively are essential foundations for sustainable digital development.
