LEBANON – Lebanon ranked 48th out of 122 countries in the 2026 Global Hunger Index, scoring 9.4 points and falling within the low hunger category, according to data from the Global Hunger Index.
Despite being classified in this category, Lebanon’s score increased by 2.2 points compared with 2018, when it recorded 7.2 points, indicating a deterioration in its performance on the index over this period.
The Global Hunger Index relies on four key indicators to measure hunger levels: undernourishment, child wasting, child stunting, and under-five mortality. The higher a country’s score, the more severe its level of hunger.
These findings come amid signs of slowing global progress in the fight against hunger, with global hunger levels rising for the first time since 2000, according to the report.
